Book Presentation & Artist Talk:

Jeff Weber in conversation with Krassimir Terziev

Thursday, 16th May 2019, 6 p.m. at Structura Gallery

Jeff Weber’s photographic practice is experimental in a rigorous sense, revolving around what he refers to as his attempt to develop a personal epistemology. In his work he investigates the connection of the photographic image to the epistemological project of modernity, exploring the contemporary conditions of the image.

The book An Attempt At A Personal Epistemologyis the result of his long-term project Kunsthalle Leipzig, an institution which worked as an extension of his photographic practice and functioned as a conceptual frame to invite others to actively participate.

Weber holds a diploma (2010) from the LaCambre Art School in Brussels. In 2012, he was a resident at Jan van Eyck Academie in Maastricht. His work has been shown internationally including the De Appel Arts Center, Amsterdam; the Casino – Forum d’Art Contemporain, Luxembourg; Fotomuseum Winterthur; Roots and Culture Contemporary Art Center, Chicago; the Interfood-Vitrine, Aachen; Silberkuppe, Berlin, and the Erna Hecey Gallery, Luxembourg. He has organized and curated numerous events, lectures, and projects at Kunsthalle Leipzig between 2014–2017.
