Sonja Gangl was born in Graz, Austria, and lives in Vienna. She received diplomas from the Academy of Fine Arts and the University of Applied Arts, both Vienna. In 2016, she was awarded the Prize of the City of Vienna and in 2018 the Recognition Award of the Province of Styria/Austria.
