Inga Levi (b. 1986) is a Ukrainian artist, born and still living in Kyiv, Ukraine. In 2011, she obtained an MA in book illustration from the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.” Graduated Contemporary Art at the Kyiv Academy of Media Arts in 2021. Inga works mainly in the field of graphics and painting. In the 2000s, she became interested in urban space, architecture, and monumental art, as reflected in her extensive artistic practice.
The news of Russia’s attack on Ukraine caught Inga in Lviv. Together with colleagues, she was about to arrange the opening of the Paraska Plytka-Horytsvit Museum in Kryvorivnia, a village of the Verkhovyna district, Ivano-Frankivsk region. In her war series “Double Exposure”, the artist depicts the overlapping of two realities. The scenes she witnesses as she navigates relatively safe routes in and out of the country are interspersed with traumatic news reports from war-affected Ukrainian regions.
Anna Prydatko (b. 1991 in Sevastopol, Crimea) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Kyiv. In 2015, she obtained an MA in Chemistry from the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”; in 2020-21, she studied Contemporary Art at the Kyiv Academy of Media Arts. Anna works with painting, sculpture, and photography. A chemistry major, she is interested in the nature and composition of things, phenomena, and perceptions.
The war caught Anna in the middle of the “Death Diaries” project, in which she analyzes death and reflects on her own experiences. Under constant bombardment, Anna realizes that every thought recorded on paper before February 24 is somewhat irrelevant. Therefore, she stays in Kyiv and works from a bomb shelter to add new works. “Death Diaries” consists of three handwritten notebooks that bring together the artist’s thoughts before and during the war.
The exhibition is realized with the support of Kseniia Talalai.
